Any song that can cause someone to think of that has to be great. This song makes you feel makes you feel as if it’s judgement day and you’re on the stairway to hell whilst you think about all of the bad things you’ve done in your life. The choice of features really pushes the track, the distinctive voices of the talented Talib Kweli and Consequence. The hook is boastful and catchy “My chains heavy yeh yeh my chains too heavy”. Q Tip did a brilliant job on this sample. The beat is something so unique (Produced by Q Tip) it makes you think that you are being chased by a space ship, but you wouldn’t get far, because the neck snapping drum loop would distract you. The beat, the hook and the features are the reason why this one is so high. The song achieves its purpose and can cause happiness anytime its played.ĥ.

The drums alongside the “One Two Come On!” causes you to feel the beat, break out into a big smile and head bop like crazy. Production wise, it is one of the best beats Kanye West has ever made. It has such a happy tone to it which again is hard to find in a Kanye West song. It sounds like a song that could be played every Christmas around the dinner table. G.O.O.D Friday ft Big Sean X Pusha T X Kid Cudi X Charlie Wilsonįrom the G.O.O.D Friday mixtape, G.O.O.D Friday featuring Big Sean, Pusha T, Kid Cudi and Charlie Wilson, this song is amazing. It’s a great track for anyone with an open mind.Ħ. To compliment the harsh track, Yeezy has a mean attitude, which compliments the title “On Sight”, it conjures up thoughts of Ye losing it and going on a rampage. Me personally I loved it and love the acid sounding beat to it. This already causes hip-hop heads to turn away and have a bad taste for the rest of the Cd. So putting in the Yeezus Cd and hearing the loud distorted Daft Punk analog synth was so unexpected to hear at the start of a Kanye Cd. We Don’t Care, Heard Em Say, Good Morning etc, all has a minor scale sound to it, so as an intro to a Kanye cd, another minor scale song would be expected. My only problem with this is that they didn’t make the ending longer.Ī controversial track to hip hop heads, but number 7 is On Sight. Kanye's low quality auto tuned singing over the eerie guitars creates the impression that the whole song is a metaphor where the first dark part is where he is enslaved and the singing is a signal to his freedom. He is basically saying that the modern day person is enslaved to all the big corporations, but this isn’t what impresses me, it’s the ending when the Omega sample kicks in, it is perfect.

The song actually is a lot deeper than it seems as it is Kanye talking about how everyone slavery has changed. The song begins and instantly, a dark tone is set by the heavy plucked synths and the modulated screams. The 2013 track New Slaves is one of my personal favorites. I’m not going to speak on the skits, just simply listen to them as they show the extent of Kanye’ hatred for school as he mocks the system. This song doesn’t diverge from that as lines like “told ‘em I finished school and started my own business, they say oh you graduated, no I decided I was finished”. The whole theme of the College Dropout album is on how much he hates school, how it isn’t for everyone and how he got successful without it. There isn’t a lot to say about the beat, you just have to listen to understand how the jazzy sounding piano causes your head to nod.

The pitched up Aretha Franklin sample layered with the signature Ye kick clap and backing vocals creates a soul filled track. This is a chilled track, which is rare with Kanye. The beat is great and the young Kanye does the track justice. His ego is massive in this track but it works as he says lines such as “H to the Izzo got three thousand spins in a week, you only got a thou’ in a month? Wow”. Ye is spitting a boastful style saying how he is far superior over most people. The production features a reggae themed bassline over a hip hop beat creating a sound that was particular of that time as music was filled with other reggae style tracks eg Dipset Anthem – Dipset and One Blood – The Game. To start off, this is a track from Ye’s first unreleased mixtape Freshmen Adjustment. He has such a major catalogue, it was hard to pick the top ten, but here it is, Ye’s Top Ten tracks. The Chicago native Kanye West has a major catalogue and is a renowned legend in the music industry, and not even just in hip hop.
